Energetic Nutrition: Why popcorn is so addicting

As I start my second bowl of popcorn today, I’m thinking about why it’s my second-favorite food. Medical experts disagree about whether popcorn is great for you or terrible for you, but I don’t care. I’m thinking about it in terms of energy healing.

Since my Reiki certification, I’ve been in tune with the energy signature of my food. Popcorn has always been addicting for me — when I start, I can’t stop.

This could be because it’s a low-calorie carb with lots of salt and butter, yes. But also, popcorn is a seed. Seeds contain the energy of life.

Take an apple seed and split it in half. Put the two halves, pointed ends together, on a white background under a bright light (a piece of paper under a lamp will do) and try to see it’s aura. See that blue haze in a figure-8 shape? That’s the seed’s energy field. In that tiny seed is the power to grow an entire tree, millions of leaves and countless apples. All this from one seed.

Nuts and seeds are considered to be some of the healthiest superfoods, and I now see why. The strength of these tiny powerhouses hold the planet together. Without seeds, none of us would survive.

It’s amazing what small things can do, isn’t it?

The next time you eat something, think carefully about its energy. Is it giving you life? Or diminishing it? Raw, whole foods have higher vibrations than processed ones. Your body will thank you for eating cleaner.

And the next time you eat popcorn, give thanks for the life force that binds us all.
